Kitchen Cabinets and Wardrobes for Three Flats in Elebu, Ibadan
31 October 2026 · Summit Furniture

How do you furnish three flats for a client who isn't even in the country? You pick materials that last, plan every unit with care, and deliver work that won't need fixing a few months later.
That was the task on this project in Elebu, Ibadan. Summit Furniture built the wardrobes and kitchen cabinets for all three flats (one 3-bedroom and two 2-bedroom units), in HDF board, for a client who lives outside Nigeria and wanted furniture that would last.

Why we quoted HDF board
The client's priority was clear: quality, and furniture that lasts. Rented flats see heavy daily use and a change of tenants over the years, so cheap boards that sag, swell or lose their screws are a poor trade.
So we quoted HDF (high-density fibreboard). It is a dense, strong board that holds hinges and screws well and takes a smooth, even finish. That makes it a sound choice for kitchen cabinets and wardrobe doors that open and close every day.
For a landlord, the extra cost buys fewer repairs and a property that stays presentable for longer.
The kitchens: warm wood-grain doors, sharp black details
Each kitchen uses the corner of the room well, with an L-shaped run of base cabinets and wall cabinets above. We paired cream wood-grain doors with black frames and slim black T-bar handles. The contrast is clean and modern, and it sits well against the patterned wall tiles and a black granite countertop.

- Plenty of storage: double-door base units for pots and pans, and wall cabinets for plates and dry goods.
- A three-drawer stack: for cutlery, utensils and everyday items within easy reach.
- A bay left open for the cooker: the run was planned around the appliances, so nothing has to be forced into place.
- Matching handles throughout: simple black bars that are easy to grip and easy to wipe clean.

Every unit is built to sit square and flush, so the doors line up once the work is finished.
The wardrobes: one clean look, several layouts
The bedroom wardrobes share a bright white finish and brushed steel T-bar handles, so the flats feel consistent. Inside, each layout is different, planned around the room and the amount of storage it needed.
The compact two-door wardrobe suits a smaller bedroom. A full-height shelved section sits beside a hanging rail, with a drawer below it for folded clothes.

The larger wardrobes go from floor to near the ceiling. Top cabinets hold bags, bedding and seasonal items, while the lower section combines shelves, hanging space and drawers.

The wardrobes with extras add a drawer and an open section with rails, ideal for shoes or everyday items you want to reach quickly.

Built for landlords and clients living abroad
When you can't visit the site every week, you need furniture that is right the first time and stays that way. A project like this works because of a few simple choices:
- Durable material: HDF board means fewer repairs and fewer call-outs between tenants.
- One standard across all three flats: the same finish, handles and build quality throughout.
- Easy-care finishes: white wardrobes and simple black handles wipe clean and stay presentable.
- One supplier for wardrobes and kitchens: one team, one standard and one point of contact.
